Among Doug’s recent books are Nothing To Do, about the importance of unscheduled time for kids; Old Turtle and The Broken Truth, sequel to the Award Winning Classic Old Turtle; Fawn Island - adult non-fiction, with original art by the author; The Secret of Saying Thanks - children, inspirational; and two new books in the “The Wisdom of Nature” series for adults.

"This Minnesota wilderness guide writes music, books and essays, sings, plays guitar, banjo, violin, and piano and teaches about the environment. Shaping this multi-faceted life is his profound love and respect for nature. His Earthsongs are in turn poetic, jaunty, humorous, and thoughful; his best-selling Old Turtle is an eloquent parable for adults and children, deceptively simple, about reverence for the Earth and all its creatures—including humankind."
